THE GARDEN OF
GETHSEMANE.....
And, don't worry~ I have pictures....
The ancient gnarled (but beautiful) old
Olive Trees were striking... They are said to be
from the time of JESUS~ and I believe it... We
saw a 400 yr. old Olive Tree in Capernaum...
but the ones in Gethsemane had trunks that
were 10-12 times the diameter... and all the inner
heartwood was gone... they were hollow trunks,
with only the outer bark and sapwood living...
but living and well-tended they were... I couldn't
help but hum the old Easter Song "Neath the Old
Olive Trees"...
